This week as a fun filled week. (And many sick kids ).
This is what the children wanted to share with you.
They learned new sounds: in, x, eu, ô and y.
We met our new Science Teacher, Mme Wilkinson and Scooter the Gecko. He is so cute!
We learned about each others favourite food in socials.
We are also learning about our private self circle and our family circle. These circles represent who we feel comfortable hugging and hugging us. Each child had some similar responses and different ones of course!
We learned a new song about the french words; sur, sous, dans, devant, derrière et à côté de moi.
In math, we have been learning a lot about 2D shapes and making them with our bodies. We also did drawings using shapes. We have also been practicing by doing flashcard test with numbers with Mme Grégoire every morning. Everyone's enemy is number 13! No one seems to be remembering it.
We are really looking forward to Pyjama and Stuffed Toy Day on Tuesday! We will be making cookies with Mme Grégoire!
Thomas and Isaac playing "Rush Hour". A game of concentration and skill.
Kitchen Center is very popular.
The sticks are new this week and they seem to be loving it. Building and working together to build their fort.
Shapes with out bodies.
Can you guess what this is?
Square and "background"
A big square with 8 people. Lots of learning there; the need to learn to cooperate, be a leader, be a follower, know what a square looks like.
Making an ovale with our bodies.
They read the little books about winter that they made, to each other.
Learning about shapes, to draw shapes and read the colours.
Reading to our big buddies and we read out little books to them. The grade 6 were impressed by our books and our reading :)
Drawing with shapes and learning to following picture directions.
A test on my part, telling students the directions verbally and then doing. The picture above, the red circle, is what we came up. Below, is what I was trying to get them to draw. OOps! My directions were not very good obviously!
Globe de Neige
Dinners parties...that's a lot of food!
