The First Nations Language and Culture students at Don Ross Middle School have built an audio dictionary for the Squamish language. Since the Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh) language is an oral language and many people don’t know how to read the unique alphabet, the audio recordings make it possible to learn some words in Squamish.
There are many, many activities that can be done around the audio recordings like role plays, charades, bingo games, counting games, story-telling and Simon says.
